Dr. Odette Thomas is a Clinical Assistant Professor at New York University Long Island School of Medicine (NYULISOM) with 13 years of clinical experience. Dr. Thomas is currently a Medical Unit Director at NYU Langone Long Island, ranked as the 2nd best Hospital system in New York.
She is tasked with leading the daily Interdisciplinary rounds, which coordinate the care and patient flow from admission to discharge. She identifies and rectifies potential problems, mitigates and intervenes in challenging cases. She enacts process improvement strategies, which are aimed at meeting organizational metrics and goals.
Dr. Thomas has served as an Executive Board Member of the Future Leaders of Jamaica Inc. which is a non-profit organization that provides scholarships and mentorship to top students from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Odette has also spent time volunteering at The Inn, a local soup kitchen in Hempstead, NY, and participated in church community forums and discussions.
Odette enjoys reading, quiet nature walks and spending time with her family.
Dr. Thomas’s passion is to give of self and to enhance the lives of all she touches. Being the co-founder of the Tagheart Foundation helps to achieve that goal.
